Story: Successful Ryoo Seung-yong comes back as a fool Yong-gu for his daughter! Outsiders not allowed! In room number 7 of the prison where all kinds of criminals are gathered, comes Yong-gu, a father with the sense of a 6 year-old and his 7 year-old daughter Ye-seung. A true heartfelt comedy. We see a connection between a mentally illfather and his lovingly adorable daughter. A really close one. Althoughmentally unfit, the emotion and love of the father is undeniable. Andthen you have a smart and understanding daughter, who loves his fatherso much and doesn't see her father differently. Behind that, there is atragically engaging story -- The kind-hearted father, as innocent as heis, accused of murder and rape.

The prison scenes act as an icing to the story. A place so feared andsomber, is in fact where most of the comedy takes place. It shows thepositive side of a prison life, and that not all prisoners aregangsters or bad. Everyone has a heart, a good one that is. They havemade their prison cell a very bearable place. So much that evenYe-Seung, the daughter can hide in it and stay with them.

All characters play very important roles to construct the whole movie.It's fun to Streaming the prison inmates, all having their very ownpersonality. Ryoo Seung-Yong portrayed the character of the mentallyhandicapped father very convincingly. And the child actor, Kal So-Wonis so cute and sweet and suited her role so much. Even the adultversion of the girl turns out to be a real sweetheart and has a verycaptivating performance.

The movie shows us that you can be someone as high up as a PoliceCommissioner, but a disgusting personality. Or someone as simple-mindedas the father in this story, but with a good heart. Rankings andpositions really does not determine a person. Sometimes things are moredelightful when it's not complicated, as long as we know to appreciateand cherish all that we have.

This is definitely one of the best Korean movies. Filled with tears andlaughters. Yes, you have to prepare some tissues as it gets very teary-eyed towards the end.. and not just once. A fun to Streaming film frombeginning to the end and a compelling drama at the same time, easilygrips the hearts of the audience. Very well thought of and extremelywell executed. A true gem.

Ryu Seung-Ryong is one of the hot actors in Korea. His recent movies,the ultimate weapon, "bow", "GwangHae" and many others show why he is agood actor. Actually he is probably the one of the two hottest actorsin Korea nowadays. One is Ha Jung-Woo and the other is Ryu Seung-Ryong.

His characters in movies were usually very manly. Sometimes a boss of agangster, sometimes a warrior, sometimes a very solemn guy... well..sometimes a playboy ( in "All about my wife" ) So, it was a joy to seehis the other side in this movie.

This story is not based on true story. However, it shows some problemsin the process of police's accusation of a person and persuade him toaccept police's offer by falsely presents some of their ideas andsacrifice the innocent people's life without any payback.

Right after this movie, an news article was posted in a newspaper howmany percentage of all those people who are sentenced to somethingnon-trivial things are falsely persuaded to accept police's offer orthings like that.

So, although this movie is totally fiction and comedy, it gives us somechance to think about the problem after laughing and sobbing.

One thing I noticed is that probably this movie is re-adaptation ofHollywood movie, "Green Mile". The difference is that it was about aperson who had a super power in Green Mile and he tried to save agirl's life, but he was falsely accused as a killer. In this movie, RyuSeung-Ryong is a mentally handicapped person who loves his daughtervery much. He promised to buy a school bag with the "Sailer Moon"cartoon on it for his daughter. When he got his "probably" daily salaryfrom a local market, a girl approached to him and she told him that sheknew a store where they sell more sailor moon school bag. Because itwas a cold day, the little girl slipped on ice and due to the too-heavysailor moon bag she wore, she slipped heavily and to make thins worse,a cement brick which was pushing down some covers for goods at somestores fell on her forehead. So, he tried to do CPR ( because helearned it at his work ) but an woman passing by saw him andmisunderstood he tried to rape her and killed her.

Then there is a chief in the prison who started to see his realintention and what he actually did. He tried his best to save him, buthe couldn't prevent his hanging from being processed.

So, overall plot of those two movies are almost same. In the case ofGreen Mile, why the guy was falsely accused is based on the situationhere in the US, while the mentally handicapped guy was accused so wasbased on the situation there in S.Korea.

I don't know if Korean producers of this movie actually intended orbought the scenario from Hollywood. But the plot is like that.

Sometimes it's very interesting to see how different directors andcultures draw the same topic differently. Even though I thought it wasre-adaptation of Green Mile, it was not boring to Streaming this movie. Itfelt fresh. Also I had interesting time to compare those two movies.

I recommend this movie.
